DOULA

MEET AMSY

Hey! I’m so happy you’re here! Hiring a doula is such an incredible first step on a journey towards an empowered birth. I would be honored to be your doula.

I am a certified birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, and all around birth enthusiast. Whether you are looking for a guide through the entire process, postpartum recovery help, natural birth support, hospital birth advocacy, home birth assistance, VBAC support, or help in birth plan creation, I have years of experience and would love to support you.

I have had two unmedicated births personally, and love natural birth! However, my deepest desire is that families come away from their births feeling supported, respected, and without trauma, no matter what kind of birth that is. I provide c-section support, attend births with epidurals, as well as unmedicated births in and out of hospital. Everyone deserves experienced doula support, no matter what kind of birth you choose.

I believe strongly in, and put high value on autonomy. That YOU get to make the choices for YOUR birth. My job isn’t to give you all the “right” answers, it’s to help you find the right answer for you. To help you ask the right questions. To help you take all of the facts and evidence, the opinions of your provider and partner, and then to weigh that against yourself and what your gut is telling you to make a decision YOU feel comfortable with.

Evidence-based support, trauma-informed care, a nuanced approach, and individualized care are at the core of how I show up for my clients.

If you’re ready to make this thing official, be sure to hit the contact button so we can chat about how I can best serve you and your growing family. I can’t wait to meet you!

  • Hiring Amsy was the best thing my husband and I could’ve done to prepare for my labor and delivery with our daughter. Having her knowledge, skills and empathy throughout my L&D was invaluable and I’m so thankful I had her! I continuously looked to her throughout it for knowledge and help with hard decisions and reassurance as things progressed or changed. She’s continued to check-in on us through the early postpartum days and continues to be a resource to us.

  • Thankful for Amsy and her knowledge, expertise, and support. I had a very long labor, and Amsy came as soon as I felt I needed her. She made me feel safe and secure, and was able to relieve a lot of my pain and show my husband how to as well. So thankful to have her at my labor and be one of the first people to meet my son! Aside from the 4 days I was in labor, Amsy checked in on my during my pregnancy and now postpartum to touch base and make sure I was okay, as well as answer any questions I had. She’s really become a safe space for me, and a friend.

  • My boyfriend and I couldn’t recommend anyone more than we recommend Amsy! I was very anxious going into the birthing process and wanted a way to maintain as much dignity and autonomy as you can in a hospital birth. Working with Amsy was the perfect way to do that. Not only is she only a text or call away during pregnancy (literally… she answers in like seconds) but she has also been an amazing source of support postpartum. A bright light in my pregnancy and birth journey and a new lifelong friend. Love love love.

  • Amsy was our doula for our first born and she will be our doula for future babies! She is so endearing with a great sense of humor and instantly makes you feel like a friend. She's very knowledgeable in everything birth and breast feeding. I loved having her to talk with and to guide me through my birth and postpartum planning. With her help my husband and I felt more confident and prepared. During the birth she guided me into positions that would speed up progression and she made contractions much more bearable. I don't know if I would have been brave enough to attempt a natural birth without her. I am so happy with our birth experience and I owe it to Amsy! Love you Amsy!

  • I was on the fence if the money was even worth having a doula because I had a baby before. It was a million times worth it! She is the sweetest person and was my biggest advocate during birth and changed the whole experience into something beautiful and amazing. Can’t recommend this amazing woman enough!!

  • If I could give Amsy 20 stars I would! Amsy came to my house and did a birth plan with me, gave me so much information about birth that I had no idea was even a thing. She made my husband feel so important in the process, which I don’t think my husband knew he was going to have such an active role in the delivery. Then she came to my house again and we discussed a plan for after birth. We talked about so many things that I hadn’t even thought about! Then birth came! I can’t tell you all the things she did for me to distract me, and to help me one contraction at a time. She was there for me, my husband and my mom! After birth she stayed with us, helped us move rooms, carried all of our stuff, got us dinner!!! What?! What would we have done without her seriously. Then she gave us so much postpartum care! She bathed my baby, fed her, sat and talked to me for hours while I was feeling so lost and alone. When I tell you she’s a doula angel, she’s a doula angel. She still keeps in touch with me. She will be there for a second, third, fourth however many! She will forever be part of our lives. SHE IS THE ONE!
